Hello! Sorry that my reply is in English, I'm trying to improve my Japanese whenever I have the time.
I am an English Teacher here who arrived about 8 years ago . Kofu, and Yamanashi, are a treasure. I remember the moment I first arrived, I was awestruck by the natural beauty surrounding Kofu Station. But I was frustrated at the lack of transportation to Mountain trails from Kofu Station, or any other place in Yamanashi. The only way to get to many trails is via private car, which eliminates many tourist or day trekkers arriving from Tokyo. I feel like "Fuji From Afar" could be a major tourist draw to places like the Minami Alps, Kimpu, or Obina Yama. I recommend investments in Kofu Station to help it become a hub for trekkers. Part of this investment would include advertising of views and trail maps of locations. If the targeted audience is foreigners, I highly recommend either English names for all stops on tourist busses, or numbered bus stops.
Better roads between north and south station are greatly needed. I know there are plans, https://kofu.geocloud.jp/webgis/?p=0&bt=0&mp=23-19&, but going from Yamanote Dori to Heiwa Dori or 中央 by car is a nightmare. The completion of Yokozawa dori- Aonuma dori needs to be a priority. I am also praying for the northern ring road section to be approved. The Atagoyama Tunnel cannot handle the amount of traffic it gets in the morning.
Please build a parking garage downtown, if the goal is to commercialize Marunouchi, I think it is a great place to put a parking garage.
To bring economic impact and people to downtown on weekends, build a park with an outdoor amphitheater downtown. Have weekend concerts or shows. Also, I would love to see a Sailor Moon museum in downtown Kofu. Takeuchi Naoko is from Midorigaoka area! Many people grew up watching that show, me included! I hope the city of Kofu is looking for the opportunity to celebrate such an impactful creation!
Kofu has so much to offer! Lots of sunshine, history, great outdoor healthy living opportunities, epic views, and cheap land prices! I hope you are advertising in places like Tohoku and encouraging people to move to Kofu instead of Tokyo or other huge cities.
